The Internet is not overreacting. It's reacting. The Internet has always reacted this way when something like this was said/done by an influencer/celebrity. Especially when it's someone who the young generation looks up to or follows. More than what is said, it's usually who said it. Should the Internet react so strongly to more important issues? Absolutely. But it won't. And there's little we can do to change that.
