Today I said a final goodbye to my mum. A day I have been dreading but it was beautiful. A piper played her in and us out & I feel as if something inside me is at peace along with her. It was a service full of friendship & love for her. I can breathe for the first time in weeks.

I have just come back from my godmother’s funeral and the last photo on the memorial film show was this one of her and mum the last time they met as we were leaving. I’ve always thought it was a poignant pic, today it made me sob like a twat … but also smile - just a little.
