The fact that Rogers gave the NHL so much money and received so little control over the scheduling of playoff games featuring Canadian teams is a pretty big indictment of the negotiation skills of Pelley/Moore/Mohamed.
The NHL lets US TV win the fight with Canadian TV again, so Edmonton-Vegas gets moved *after it was announced by Vegas for Friday*, and the Leafs and Oilers only get Sundays instead of Saturdays after that. Sportsnet paid a lot of money for the product, and that's what they get.

Jim Matheson covered the most star studded team in NHL history. He had great relationships with the biggest stars the game has ever known. He asked good questions then in the heyday of the Edmonton Oilers - he still asks them now.
