NO 🏈 is the basically the only sport where you actually have two distinct and separate teams on each team. The outcome of the game isn’t a function of a single player. A QB is the most important player on that team but their impact is relatively low compared to other sports.

If I was to take a guess this is only possible because of low demand for hotel rooms due to COVID. The City then goes to the hotel negotiates a low rate for the rooms. Not possible under normal circumstances when travel is up and occupancy rates are high.
