One of my favorite shots, was of a super nova back in 2022. I just so happened to capture the galaxy a couple weeks before it went super nova, and then a day or 2 after. And the brightness of that star exploding 63 million light years away was just as bright as other stars in our own galaxy. It's truly amazing what you can observe in space. And to then think, when that star originally exploded, dinosaurs has just died off.

This sounds about like some of the rural towns and title companies I work with sometimes. Something that should be acessible immediately takes weeks to months to obtain record or documentation of.
Federal employee retirements are processed using paper, by hand, in an old limestone mine in Pennsylvania. 700+ mine workers operate 230 feet underground to process ~10,000 applications per month, which are stored in manila envelopes and cardboard boxes. The retirement process takes multiple months.

I'm all for helping other countries, but we need to prioritize our own budget first. We shouldn't be handing out foreign aid until we've balanced our books. Helping others should be about protecting American lives and interests, not just because we feel like playing global benefactor while we're buried in debt. Currently, each taxpayer is carrying around $240,000 of national debt. When I started working 25 years ago, this burden was significantly lighter - it has increased by over $150,000 per taxpayer since then. That's a staggering jump. Imagine if we had maintained a balanced budget all these years. How much more money would we have in our pockets? We're talking about significant savings - money that could have been used for real things, not just to pay the interest on a debt that keeps growing. It feels like we're neglecting our own citizens, letting them "waste away" under this debt, while we're out there giving money we don't have. Other countries should be taking out loans to solve their problems, not us. We need to clean up our own financial mess first. Now, what Elon Musk and his DOGE team are doing right now - trying to cut through the bureaucratic red tape and find efficiencies - that's something we should be cheering for. If Musk can streamline government spending, make it less wasteful, then maybe we can start addressing this debt monster. It's crucial that we support efforts to make government operations more efficient, especially when they're led by someone who actually has a track record of making things work. The courts stepping in, blocking DOGE from accessing systems or data unless there's something explicitly illegal going on, just slows down the process. Unless there's clear evidence of wrongdoing, we shouldn't let legal challenges bog down what could be genuine attempts at reform. Sure, protect privacy and legality, but don't let the system become an obstacle to progress. If we had focused on fiscal responsibility, we'd have a lot more in our wallets, and maybe we wouldn't be caught up in these political games. Let's get our financial house in order before we start acting like the world's charity with borrowed funds, and let's not let the courts hinder efficiency efforts unless there's a real legal issue at stake.

@cenkuygur This is a dumb take. Going to war for American lives is the only reason America should go to war. The Biden Administration did nothing for 2 years but let American citizens waste away as hostages. Trump is right, in bringing hell onto those who would kidnap our people.
