I started school in the 70's and was only ever taught metric at school but socially the old units were still around so I picked some of those up too.

@adamsummerton It's already happened on my regional stations. They now pump out generic nationwide rubbish most of the time that has no connection to the area. I've no idea how they manage to retain the license for a local station given their output.

@MartinSLewis We really need to build houses much more quickly than the current rate. I’m not sure that the builders and lenders would be so keen on that though as it would seriously cool our overheated housing market.

@ChrisGiles_ Housing seems to have become like diamonds. Restricted supply (and ludicrous prices) suits builders, lenders and investors far more than a plentiful supply. It will be an uphill battle to increase the rate of building.
