I know, man. This was absolutely not done intentionally. We have no control over the compression specs of each platform. It's a real problem that truly bums me out, and after comparing them all, iTunes is the closest to what we wanted / brighter than the rest.
IMMACULATE is comically dark. I’m watching it in a dimly lit room in the evening and can barely make out what’s happening on screen. Why would anybody do this intentionally?

Here's a neat before/after of this cablecam shot in IMMACULATE. On the day (left) it was too windy to add fog, so we had to do it digitally. For the camera to "pass thru" the gate, we had to take the gate door off, and re-create it with CG. Pretty seamless!

Tonight I saw the unreleased / illegal cut of Brian De Palma's PHANTOM. No, not PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE. "PHANTOM." I had no idea some of his brilliant steadycam work had been chopped up due to dumb clearance issues. Really, really hope this sees the light of day.

Shooting inside a coffin is very low-tech, but required an extraordinary amount of preparation. Each shot needed a different configuration of the set elements to allow a window for the camera's lens to be properly positioned.

since AICN. Bought the very, very first edition of Seagology. To see folks like him discover and appreciate VOYEURS is a trip.
Since I enjoyed IMMACULATE I checked out Sydney Sweeney and director Michael Mohan's 2021 collaboration THE VOYEURS. I was impressed how it checks all the boxes of a Skinemax thriller but it's not dour, it looks and feels thoroughly modern, in a good way.

Everyone should rewatch PEEPING TOM. Helen Stevens is such an iconic character. A wallflower, but outspoken. Seems meek, but has a strong perspective (and unafraid to voice it). Desires love, but she's not loathsome or self deprecating.

Received some good news today. Post-production on my film is finally getting back up and running in 2 weeks. No word on a release date yet, but we're on track to slowly-but-safely finish THE VOYEURS early next year.
