Exactly — I learned about start times by reading about the last time the US tried permanent DST and kids kept getting hit by vehicles because they were going to school so early, in the dark, clearly a) struggling to see, and b) tired as hell???

Must-read thread. Last year, I too paid a $$$ medical bill that I shouldn't have been sent, after a friend in health insurance told me: "if it's under $2,000, it's not worth risking your credit rating."
For this to be a barrier to HIV-prevention in NYC is even more disturbing.
I am paying the bill because i dont want it to impact my credit, and luckily, i can afford it, but i fear for anyone who’s going to the public hospitals and isnt able to pay. It could saddle them with incorrect bills with no method of recourse.

I’m looking up rules for people traveling into the UK from “amber countries” (inc the US). They have to show they’ve paid for 2 tests (on day 2 & day 8). It costs £175-300 *per test*.
