Sad thing is the spirit of Valve that made those games IS still there. Half Life Alyx is a genuinely amazing game that feels completely in line with their old content.
It's just that Valve has expanded into something much bigger, and that side of it is getting fucking ugly
Remember, the Valve that made Half-Life, TF2 and Portal have been gone for years. This is modern Valve, and they're not much better than any other skeezy major game company.
