She was treated at a clinic that, until recently, was fully funded by the US. That funding stopped a few months ago, and the clinic now only handles emergency cases. If it shuts down—an increasingly likely outcome—and the girl’s convulsions continue, she could die. This is my first visit to the camps in six years, and in that time, donations have steadily declined. The cut to USAID may be the tipping point.
