Growing up in West PA in the 80s & 90s was fun rooting for the Pirates. Bonds was a star & Jim Leyland was a legendary manager. Bonds left in 93 after 3 straight NL East reg season titles. Since then (31 yrs) the team has had 4 seasons over .500 ball. Why stay in Pittsburgh?
Today, with just six games left, the Pirates DFA'd Rowdy Tellez, who has been an above-average hitter by wRC+ over the past month. Coincidentally, Tellez's contract reportedly entitled him to a $200,000 bonus at 425 plate appearances. His time with the Pirates ends at 421.

Love this. We say a lot of things to try and make our teams more confident but the main objective is not just to have fun. Be accountable, work hard, raise the bar, lead, push the limits, compete. Do your job. Celebrate the wins. Love your teammates. Get back to work!
