Over 2000 players have 100+ career games since 2018. Just 1 of them has a Hard Hit% (95+ EV) of 44%+ and a Whiff% less than 12%. @BodineCaden

Someone needs to give @payteeles a shot! Not often you see a D2 transfer perform better when faced with a top 20 D1 strength of schedule. On base machine, great bat to ball and swing decisions and an elite runner. Will rise fast!

Bodine is also slashing .354/.411/.615 with 6 BB, 5 K, 4 HR, 3 2B, 3B, HBP. In 16 career postseason games. @ChantsPlayerDev.
A potential first-team preseason All-American and first-round pick, @BodineCaden is arguably the No. 1 catcher in the country. The @CoastalBaseball backstop owns a career slash line of .346/.432/.564 with 20 homers and a 65-44 BB-K mark.

Payton Eeles is killing it in 85 AAA PA’s for the Twins, .400 OBP with more BB’s than K’s. Future big leaguer! No surprise to #TealNation.

Huge shoutout to @TannerGarrison for leading the NCAA in Strikes Looking Plus this season. Stealing strikes at a rate 23% above the league average.
Tanner Garrison - Coastal Carolina C . Proud of my little brother. Despite an early injury @TannerGarrison was #1 in NCAA D1 SL+ on Trackman fields with 20+ games caught. (122.8).@CoastalBaseball

@PetePaguaga I mean Matt Garbowski would have the 29th best pop time among MLB catchers, hitting .369 with 15 XBH and 28 RBI, also hasn’t made an error, but ig its a discussion lmao.

Great day at the palace for scout day. 🔥3 batted balls 104 mph+ for Chavers. ‼️‼️ 4 Freshman arms continue to show out . 🔥Hardest hit ball of the year (Nick Lucky 109 mph). 💣 BT’s parking lot bombs. Gonna be a fun one.
Wrapping up my final fall road trip with scout day at @CoastalBaseball. Watching BT Riopelle take batting practice is a harrowing experience - I parked in the back row of the lot, but now I'm nervous that I didn't give BT enough room. Man got some juice.

@Jaysdrunktweets @Xcizer @YankeeWRLD @hovie1738 @MaxwellResnick Donaldson’s tilt was 10:23 (2075 spin) compared to Correa’s 12:25 (1844), which explains a lot, makes sense Correa got so much more carry. I’m sure the ball could have something to do with it but not all exit velos and launch angles are created equally.

Go give him a follow, one of the better catching coaches I’ve ever been around. Putting focus on what matters💪🏼.

Left is from early this season and right is this week, back to his 2019 stance allowing him to hit low and inside pitches again forcing pitchers to use the outter half which he can spread the field with. Courtesy of @pattaymaz10 suggestion, future big league Hitting coach.
Jeff McNeil's first 131 plate appearances: zero home runs. McNeil's next 14 plate appearances: four home runs. He's the second Met this year to homer in four consecutive games. Orioles 5, Mets 3 after four.

Mets sending Endy Rodriguez to the Padres for Joey Lucchesi. The farm keeps getting thinner. Here’s a piece I wrote about Endy a few months ago. Definitely some value in acquiring a controllable LHP with potential though.
NEW!🚨Endy Rodriguez Prospect Profile🚨. @matthewpepin_ Dove into an under the radar #Mets prospect who has some nice upside. Potential Switch hitting Catcher who can play multiple position. Always exciting. And the bat is just as strong #MiLB #Prospects.

@MetsAnalytics_ @MaxSportsStudio Dom had a 26.2 last season, ranking roughly 175th (Roughly 1% above average). He’s actually maintained a 17 median launch angle in both seasons which is very good to begin with. His max exit velo is up 2 mph but I really don’t think he’s made any adjustments making this an (1/2).

@ckurcon Share it as much as you want, this work is amazing and if teams don’t already use a variation of it then they will in the future.

@eccentricladdie Big fan of this, I’d have to assume it’s predictive on a college scale but I’d love to see it tested. Very similar to @ckurcon “Truehit” which is awesome.

@MetsAnalytics_ @MaxSportsStudio Increase to his true power potential. His Truehit (Predictive wOBACON) is up from .368 to .374, however guys can dramatically out perform this by having a tight spread of launch angles (especially at 17 degrees). So I think it’s pretty clear this the main reason for his success .

@KaiFranke3 Austin Wells (NYY), Tyler Soderstrom (OAK), Daulton Varsho (AZ), Tyler Stephenson (CIN), Luis Campusano (SD), Ronaldo Hernandez (TB), are all guys I think could make huge impacts without having to frame pitches.

After evaluating all 41 switch hitters with 100+ total PA this season, Edman ranks #2 in bat speed difference, see below. Note how the 5 largest bat speed gaps also have significant gaps in production by batter side.

@ckurcon It looks like they don’t even touch pitchers but Steven Matz has like 25 speed and is in the 89th percentile.

@NFInhouse Durso on being upgraded from questionable to probable “you know it feels good knowing I’m probably going out there and going to try to help my team come up with a dub, it’s an important game. I’ve had a great comeback with this [calf injury] I think it’ll be fun to get out there”.

@StephenJosiah13 Guillorme and Matz are my big ones, based on Guillormes AAA and even what he showed in the bigs he can get on base at a high rate and potentially be a great defender, and I’ve never loved Matz but his second half showcased a potential great middle of the rotation pitcher.

@ACharlesClarke @TillyBets Definitely agree to an extent. Right now I think he’s a fairly average starter, good for the back end of the rotation. But looks like there’s a real shot he ends up in the bullpen where maybe he can be a primarily churve guy.

@MSuttonBaseball Yeah I get it, wish we had access to some of the available data today to make better comparisons. There’s no way of knowing how he really was in the field, just a basic estimate.

@GreenfieldMax18 Absolutely, I think all 3 are great and you could argue any of them. But I think eventually we’ll get good public scooping metrics and the WAR totals may reflect something other than what we argue today.

@BenJansen__ The one thing I will say in full support of him is his training regime and what he can bring to his peers, big data and pitch design which could rub off really well on younger guys. However he used pine-tar or whatever last year to get a ton of spin (hypocritical).

@GreenfieldMax18 My usual thought is Muncy or Olson, but I feel like Freeman is so underrated especially in the analytics community, worst offensive season since 2013 is 132, so consistent. Defensively SIS ranked him #1 in their private scooping metric. We should value receiving throws at 1B.

@MSuttonBaseball Yeah that’s very understandable and Ted was clearly a very poor fielder throughout his career but in his best offensive season (1946) he managed to have -2.5 DEF (150 games in OF) and just -.5 Bsr, I understand the claim for Mookie but it seems Ted was serviceable in the field.

@enosarris He’s a really weird case, strongly disagree with the 43rd ranking though. Batted ball data fairly consistent even from his worst days which is concerning. However his bat path seems to substantially better, he’s a whole new hitter which gives me a lot of hope for him.

@ACharlesClarke @TillyBets For sure, the roster isn’t fully filled in yet so it’s hard to draw conclusions but him and Matz will likely battle for that 5 spot with the loser being a reliever (very likely Joey wins SP job). Hand would be a huge signing anyway as the pen still doesn’t have a legit LHP.

@ACharlesClarke @TillyBets I’m a big fan of that idea. Kiermaier would play that same JBJ role (basically a more important Marisnick from last year) ideally I’d want Jalen Beeks in that return. Kiermaier making $8.9 compared to I want to say a proj. $11 for JBJ. I think Kiermaier is almost exactly an $8.9.
