The trade deadline is just seven days away. Here’s a full breakdown and ranking of the 14 starting pitchers I think have a shot at being moved — based on the impact they’ll have this year. A (mega)thread 🧵

Drew Gilbert will make his major league debut tonight! In five games at Sacramento, he went 7/14 with a double, two triples, and six walks to just three strikeouts. Check out my full thread on him here: #SFGiants .

Drew Gilbert’s .777 OPS and 105 wRC+ in AAA are impressive, but not fully indicative of his true talent, as he's flashing multiple elite traits. As the headliner from #LGM for Tyler Rogers, the left-handed outfielder could make an impact for the #sfgiants soon. A thread 🧵

The power has been down for Heliot Ramos, but he's been really productive since the All-Star break: #SFGiants. 333/.412/.375 (131 wRC+).17.6% K.62.3% hard-hit rate.94.2 mph avg. exit velocity. He's making a ton of contact, and his exit velocities suggest the power should return.

To all the fans complaining about Mike Yastrzemski's production at the plate: he had a 111 wRC+ with the #SFGiants, and a 120 wRC+ versus righties. That is an incredibly valuable bat.

After seven strong years for the #SFGiants , Mike Yastrzemski was traded. The right fielder was a model of consistency, matching great defense in front of Levi’s Landing with the ability to pull homers into McCovey Cove. Let's relive the most memorable moments. A thread 🧵

To get drafted in the 14th round, play seven years in the minor leagues, and finally make the big leagues as a 28-year-old is incredible. Thanks for everything, Yaz! @mikeyaz18.

But just as memorable was the way he held himself off the field. As Aya noted, he was a constant proponent of the city and the organization, helping change the media-driven culture and narrative.

"gEt OvEr YaZ hE's MiD" i'm sorry that you value stats over what he meant to the team as well as the fans. g-d forbid people are upset about losing a player who showed time after time how much he enjoyed being a giant when the narrative was "players don't like san francisco".

I’ll remember Mike Yastrzemski moments for years. His style of play, his passion, and his flair for the dramatic stick with you.

And it ended by Yastrzemski doing what he had always done: navigating Oracle Park’s right field like a pro. Ignoring the netting, he leaped and made a beautiful backhanded snag.

His Giants career started out with a bloop single, and way too wide of a turn around first base.

Early on, 2025 looked like it could be another year of magic — like 2021. Against Cincinnati, the lefty slugger yanked one last walkoff homer into McCovey Cove. At this point, Yastrzemski was well known for his late-game heroics.

2025 has come with its fair share of memorable moments. With Minnesota in town, Yastrzemski sent a line drive into center field, just out of Manny Margot’s reach. Yastrzemski ran hard to third base, causing an errant throw that allowed him to score.

Down to their final strike in St. Louis, he pulled a 95 mph fastball over the right field fence, tying the ball game. The Giants would go on to win in extra innings.

Arguably his most famous walk-off home run came in 2022, against one of the best closers in the game. With the bases loaded, Yastrzemski blasted another grand slam.

A year later, in the eighth inning against the Diamondbacks, Yastrzemski yanked a grand slam down the right field line, capping a seven-run comeback victory. In a record-breaking year, he contributed to plenty of magical moments.

Without fans at Oracle Park in 2020, amidst an MVP-caliber season, he walked off a tough lefty with another solo home run, this time into McCovey. More would follow.

Just 50 games into his big league career, Yastrzemski did it for the first time, ending a 12-inning pitcher's duel with a solo shot to left field.

But what made the lefty slugger so beloved by Giants fans was the walkoffs. The clutch hits. The diving catches. Moments that fans will remember for decades.

Since his rookie year in 2019, Yastrzemski has posted 2 WAR or more in every single season — a feat only six other position players have accomplished. Until he was traded, he was San Francisco’s longest tenured player, leading the squad in home runs, RBI, runs, and WAR.

Given his recent success, I’d like to see San Francisco push Marte up to A+. The knee issues slowed his development in years past, so they can’t be too patient with promotions.

The righty is in his first full season as a professional, after dealing with a knee injury in previous years. With more innings, experience, and strength under his belt, I could certainly see the velocity ticking up.
