The church has a crisis on its hands. As younger generations increasingly decide to leave religious institutions, they leave their parents behind to wonder where it went wrong. Half filled pews with older parents who are sad, confused and probably feel like failures. Why? 1/

As members of the church we have to cut it out with this sad countenance garbage. There are happy people outside the church and sad people in it. You don’t have any special powers to determine someone’s mental state by looking at them.

Same dude who is perving on women wearing yoga pants is the guy who said any time you hear “lds church” you can substitute it with “Jesus”. Yep. Same guy.

@FirmesConstante @mbenjamin_msw @Ch_JesusChrist Maybe you should stop standing up for a stake presidency who sides with sex abusers over victims. This isn't too complicated.

@allitude It looks bad. Wait…. It is bad. The spirit just confirmed it to me via personal revelation.

Yo @Ch_JesusChrist this is how you make an apology. Maybe Dan does consultations. Just off the top of my head, SEC scandal, sex abuse coverups, racism... That's a good start.

@FabioBYU It is an unhinged view of agency. Like... Opposite of what the war in heaven was fought over.

Like that is disgusting and deeply problematic. Notice we aren’t seeing any comments about men and their “lackadaisical attitude” about wearing garments. Why is that? (We know why). As per usual, the church cannot stop stepping in it and this is going

@metteharrison Had someone today try to explain to me the difference between policy and doctrine. I told him that the church gets those things confused at times, so no wonder the rest of us have trouble sorting it out.

If Timmy has 10k pages from Nephi, would that mean we have new scripture? I'm so glad the heavens are not sealed. Maybe we will hear more at General Conference. #genconf #hearhim #lighttheworld #mormon #lds #twitterstake

@JtBabicora I heard it framed from the @BlackMenaces I think (Correct me if I am wrong) That Holland was telling him something to the effect of, only the most righteous are persecuted... like the apostle Paul etc.

To be a firestorm that could have completely been avoided if old men kept their perverted thoughts to themselves and continued to allow individuals to choose when and how to wear the garment. Younger generations are already leaving and this will not help them want to stay.

@religiongal Yes. It is a part of the repentance process. Institutionally, the church has to confront this. Start by disavowing the whole “the church doesn’t apologize” garbage.

The LDS church wants an apology for something that MIGHT have actually happened, but as a matter of principle, does not apologize for its verifiable racist past. Do I have that right? They kept people from being exalted due to the color of their skin. Quit acting like victims

It is a tragedy only in that almost nobody that attacked BYU and its students cared enough about the facts to take a step back and be more measured in their response, @PaulZeise writes. ⬇️

Let us make a list of the ways in which the Mormon church has painted itself into corners. A thread....

Not sure how you can defend Joseph on this one. Imagine the pressure put on her. Her families eternal existence was at stake. Top shelf coercion right there. I say this all the time. No one is asking you to defend Joseph for his horrific acts. You don’t have to. Quit it.

“Anti Mormon” = scare tactics. They call it that because they don’t trust you to think critically. It’s all just information. Sift through it. Lots of stuff in the Gospel Topics Essays used to be “anti Mormon” when I was growing up. Antis were more honest than the church 🤷🏽‍♂️

@Eternal_Saints_ There's no list. It's just the prophets tell you not to read anti Mormon literature. So that's a lot of books/articles you can't read of you also want to be obedient.

@SISTASinZION For a church that is sitting on at least 100B (allegedly) they should have recalled all the printed books and sent out corrected copies or at least had bishops announce the error and direct members to the digital copy. @LDSchurch do better.

@ThoughtfulSaint They respond: "to find greater happiness" You respond: "it's not worth following your path". You aren't doing LDS members any favors with your judgement.
