My first memory with anything anime related was my uncle watching the Broly movie. He then put me on to the actual series. Dragon Ball was the thing that me and my uncle bonded over and got me into anime, manga, comics and video games. Toriyama had a life changing impact on many.

I think the reason Tabata takes heavy “inspiration” from popular shonen mangas comes from a place of inferiority complex. He knows deep down he will never be an elite manga author so him copying superior stories is a form of coping mechanism.
