@CatalinaByrd I agree that language should shift to avoid culture wars. However, they are now banning things like AP African American History?!?!? At a certain point it’s not the language and we have to stand on the truth and communicate substance effectively and call out blatant racism.

@CatalinaByrd That’s the problem though. There isn’t a replacement word for Diversity, Equity or Inclusion. Just mix up the letters I guess? IDE programs or inclusion programs? I’m not against a new phrase but we have to start having real conversations about how diversity isn’t a bad word.

@CatalinaByrd Diversity programming is needed to improve our GDP. Not enough White Men in America to improve our country’s GDP over the next two decades. We need all people in American winning and that means ending implicit bias with intentional diversity programs, no matter what it’s called.

@CatalinaByrd It is known that Tomlin wasn’t high on their list and wasn’t someone they wanted to interview but they wanted to comply with the new rule. Tomlin wowed them in the interview and got the job. He definitely earned the role, but the program put him in the position to earn the role.

@CatalinaByrd LOL. I’m praising efforts that show DEI programs work. I was a Black man before there was a Ravens Steelers rivalry. It’s Ravens all day every day, but I’m always going to give a Black man the credit and praise he deserves.
