healthcare in the US is free, few realize this
I had heard that the hospitals will just give up on personal medical debt (and it doesn’t go to your credit report) so as an experiment I didn’t pay $300 worth of bills from 2023 and fwiw nothing bad happened. I forgot about it until a 3rd party company sent me a letter saying they’d accept a 50% discount if I paid. Totally broken system. Few things blackpill you more than going to an emergency room with an emergency and watch homeless drug addicts and illegals get service ahead of you over and over while you wait and then never pay their bills
