Right side @ 1000 TPS: 1.6 sec latency
Just a 60% increase in latency. At this rate @ 2000 TPS the latency will get closer to Bitcoin's 10 min block time.

It is rare to feel reaching the optimal state when building a system. Mysticeti comes close to that, at least for its happy-path consensus algorithm. After Mysticeti reaches mainnet, there are still a ton of work left: reducing latency jitters, incorporating owned object fastpath
