In Sep 2019 Brig Gen Maureen O’Brien deployed to Syria as Deputy Force Commander (DFC) in

. Shortly afterwards she assumed acting duties of Force Commander for 9 months in one of the world’s most challenging theatres. She now continues as DFC.
