It is a great time of year to be looking out for fungi… what have you seen on your golf course?
Fantastic autumn display of fungi 🍄@PurdisHeathGolf at the moment! Has been a wet year main reason there are so many. Loads of Parasols everywhere with Sulphur tuft, Fly agaric and Chicken of the woods also about. Many more to come as well as autumn progresses @Ecology1BIGGA

This week I’ll be at the @Womens_Scottish at @DundonaldLinks doing nature walks! Meet at The Bothy 10, 12 & 2 everyday! Come and learn about the amazing wildlife that calls the golf course home. Keep your eye out for the beautiful “On course with nature” signs too 🐦⬛🦉🦇🐝🦋🦎

Great! All the work Ipswich GC are doing is genuinely making a difference in conservation. Species like Silver-studded Blue need connected habitats to survive & thrive as do many others. Can your GC create corridors in your area to help species move through the landscape & thrive
Great news from @PurdisHeathGolf found this male Silver-studded blue butterfly today in an area of site we have been managing to encourage the species to return! 1st sighting since 2011. Needs short Bell heather to breed. Prob spread from @PurdisHeathSSSI next door @HearleSharon

This was a brilliant event! All credit to @JamesBledge, the team and @RLGCHoylake for the fantastic work but even more so for sharing their work and showing exactly what is possible when existing golf courses work together with conservation organisations and statutory bodies.
Our Links Manager, @JamesBledge, hosted a walk earlier this week with @NaturalEngland, @Natures_Voice, @CheshireWT, @NatureScot, The Reptile and Amphibian Association, and natterjack toad experts.
