sorry for being late! stamp of the day is Japan's 1925 "Phoenix". It was released in 1925 in honor of the 25th wedding anniversary of Emperor Yoshihito and Empress Sadako. I don't know why the design was a phoenix- perhaps so the marriage would be long lived? (qrt'ed wrong oops)
