This is regarding a viral video of a shameful attack on a woman in Mumbai sub-urban train.

An offence under Secs. 307 (attempt to murder), 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman), 323 (causing hurt) of IPC, r/w Sec. 91 of The Right of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 has been registered at PS Dadar Rly. Accused Rafiq Khan was arrested immediately.

2. Both the accused and victim were travelling in the compartment reserved for specially-abled persons and not in ladies compartment.

3. A police personnel was deputed for protection in woman's compartment. However, as both the compartments are separated by bars, he could not come to save the victim from abuse. However, the accused was arrested immediately on his information to the control room.

Hurled stones hurt. Period. Please help us in creating awareness.
