Compared to cigarettes they are way safe, less risks involved, being used for smoking cessation.
Even from a harm reduction perspective they can save a lot of lives- and saying they are as terrible like cigarette wont be fair.

This notion that depression is just lack of religious belief is very problematic . It puts all blame on the person and paints them as sinners. We need to educate that religious and spiritual people can suffer from depression. And there is no shame in accepting help.

State of Wyoming has zero methadone clinics.
