@ailenemacp Never attended one like this, but I'd love to have a meeting where one (maybe two) people present the details of what they consider their project's biggest obstacle. Rest of the time is spent with remaining lab members speculating how to circumvent or solve it 1/2

The facts are that "those who built it" already have the wealth. Demographically, they are fine. Who's not fine, OTOH, are young Canadians. Worse unemployment, worse prospects when trying to rent housing, and worse still when trying to buy. *They're* the ones who need hands up.
.@yfblanchet believes that young Canadians have "a standard of living, a level of prosperity and a level of wealth that we never could have imagined" and he believes that "those who built it deserve to be adequately compensated". #cdnpoli

A give-away of a public park to a private company, whose business case depends (in their own estimation) on attracting nearly as many visits per year as the Eiffel tower, and 1.5x more than the best year Canada's Wonderland ever had. Please vote in the next election #ONpoli
New from me at TVO: If the Therme lease is the government's best spin on their Ontario Place spa, this is gonna be a fiasco.

Yep. Not only would this cost ~300B dollars in 2024, it would require expropriation of many, many houses and buildings. Utterly insane to consider when you can buy back the 407 for way less, and immediately increase capacity across the GTHA
#topoli #onpoli @fordnation's tunnel fantasy is impossible not just b/c of cost. Why? The 401 interchanges are located in the midst of mainly residential areas. The in/out ramps (2 in each direction, w/ gentle grades req'd) w/ consume a huge amount of land now used for homes...

@FootballSaves yep. VWFC will trade possession for space to run into on the counter with glee. Let's hope we can get one first to make them take some risks

@aidangomez This was actually studied during the Ford mayoral term (or Tory's first term). Dismissed out of hand as wildly expensive and risky. Much of that land is already recent (~100yo) fill, the eng would be super hard. I wish the boulevard option had won the vote instead

@TorontoTilIDie I maintain that the last three months have been a long-con on Vanni so that he's underprepared for this game. For real though, it's going to be a real struggle. May the odds be ever in our favor tonight.
