The level of racist and, I suspect, colorist, vitriol that Fran has faced is unlike anything I've ever seen in theatre discourse and I hope to never see again. I hope she is being well protected by her friends and family. Let this be a watershed moment, because this can't stand.

This is a beautiful play. The movement, the pacing, the chemistry. Top tier.
It is sold out but fingers crossed it gets a second life somewhere. It certainly deserves it.

During the BLM riots there was this media guy in USA talking all that burn it down talk, until it came close to his neighbourhood and then he was like these guys doing too much. This is alot of the UK people about France, it looks good cos it's over there and don't effect us.

Reminds me of the episode of SVU where the lawyer, defending the man accused of killing his son, says something that enables the prosecution to bring into evidence a notepad that incriminates his client. Didn't think that happened in real life

When For Black Boys story has ended people will write about the impact this show had. Aside from The Barbershop Chronicles I can't think of another show in recent times that has done so much to bring people, who don't think theatre is for them, through the doors. Well done guys!!

It hurts my heart when I see black theatre shows not selling. How do we make theatre a standard procedure like cinema. Alot of fringe shows cost about the same as cinema trip so cost cant be the only determining factor. What can be done?

Both started in fringe theatre
Both ran for 2 seasons (12 eps)
Chewing Gum, whilst not enjoying the success of Fleabag, was not largely ignored in my opinion,considering the BAFTA win.
One being on BBC and the other on E4 probably somewhat accounts for difference in fanfare

For Black Boys last night. Such good vibes, many memorable moments, many important conversations. Superb chemistry between the leads. Personal highlight for me was 'routine check', forgot myself for a sec when that started. Deserved SO at end! 😊

Some of the group at On The Ropes . A powerful story told beautifully with the use of music, set in the confines of a boxing ring, broken up into 12 rounds which each represent a chapter in the life of Vernon Vanriel. A privilege to watch. Book book book!

Did this once with my community event. It was a straight you can't get in after 1am. Wouldn't have been able to get my mum in that was the level of strictness. So many people were outside and we were appealing PayPal refund requests for weeks. Not for the faint of heart.
