I would feel the same if the covid vaccines turned out to be vastly worse, or completely harmless. I never even considered taking it. Unknown experimental drug risks are unknown, thus not worth taking to protect yourself from something as mild as covid. True then. True now.

@Camistal reuseable plastic containers. We mostly have glass and stainless for storage. OTOH, I spend near-zero time worrying about polymers. Unless you go Grizzly Adams, they're inevitable.

@GudistGrug Mute pretty much works like that. If you are connected to them you'll still get notifications and see them around under "This reply hidden..." buttons, so you can just reinstate them a bit later.

@WilliamE1863 Complaining that someone uses big words always = "I'm too dumb to understand what you're saying". If a person is using unnecessarily big words or using them incorrectly b/c they don't understand them, that's not how you criticize them.

@tj8CwXHWQHeveAC @martyrmade 2020 was the closest to what you describe, with Governors, Mayors & County Execs making up laws arbitrarily & acting like dictators, no courts or legislatures serious about intervening, etc... all at once. Even that wasn't pure free-for-all & many norms have partially recovered.

@9mm_smg If they have to flee, most South African (Boers at least), will consider that being "wiped out". They don't want to, and it would still be the end of them as a people, even if individuals survived. There are 4,500,000 whites in SA and only 10,000 say they'll take the offer.

@malmesburyman the Constitutional argument is that even SCOTUS doesn't need to be reflexively obeyed by the Executive, not least of which is there is no provided enforcement mechanism. The remedy for unacceptable Presidential disobedience/unconstitutional action is impeachment.
