Our Planet, this beautiful Earth, is so small in the Cosmos, it wouldn't be missed. That's how fragile our lives are....
The Pale Blue Dot is an iconic photograph of Earth captured by the Voyager 1 space probe in 1990. Taken from a distance of around 6 billion kilometers (3.7 billion miles) as Voyager 1 was departing our solar system, the image portrays Earth as a tiny, pale blue speck in the vastness of space. This image is a powerful reminder of our planet's isolation and fragility in the cosmic expanse, highlighting the need for responsible stewardship of our home. The photograph was a result of astronomer Carl Sagan's suggestion to turn Voyager's camera back towards Earth, offering a profound perspective on our place in the universe.

🇵🇸The people of #Gaza have a long road ahead to rebuild their homes and lives. 🗡️3 months of incessant bombing turned a closed off enclave into a moonscape. ☹️We call ourselves human but we act like chimpanzees with guns. @odysseuslahori Source:-

I've never had the pleasure of tasting jackfruit in Pakistan and no wonder. It requires:- 1. High humidity 2. 25-32°C ideal temperature. 3. Slightly acidic soil. 4. Lots of moisture. 5. No frosts We're not tropical enough ☹️ Source:- kk.create @odysseuslahori @GeographyNow

@simongerman600 When your perspective is U.S. centric, you can't even see most of the world! I think the gods of geography are telling us something 😉 @odysseuslahori

As children we are born with a sense of wonder, but with time the adults around us "advise" and "educate" the wonder out of us. We can take this vow, to never give advice to those didn't ask for it. @odysseuslahori

🫏Mistreating donkeys as beasts of burden wasn't enough. 🫏Now we want to slaughter them, grind their bones and sell their hides for money. 🫏This disregard for the sanctity of Life will continue unless we become conscious human beings. @Shehzad89 @odysseuslahori

@KhurramHusain @odysseuslahori Would love to know if this racket will derail the current IMF programme.

@odysseuslahori This is also ties into the fact that we have deliberately destroyed our cultural roots to the extent that we only see this country as a place to exploit, exhaust and leave. Why would we stay here when we feel no pride in our motherland?

🐠Even in the Mariana Trench, a place which is as deep as Mt. Everest is tall, life thrives. 🐠At 8000 m depth, lives the Mariana Snailfish, a 29 cm, 160 g blind fish, believed to be the deepest ever found. 🐠It was just discovered in 2014! @odysseuslahori
The Mariana Trench is located in the western Pacific Ocean, east of the Philippines and south of Japan. Its deepest point, the Challenger Deep, lies approximately 10,916 meters (35,814 feet) below sea level and is considered the deepest known place on Earth. The trench is 1/3

@GeographyNow Interesting choice to include Mongolia in East Asia. To my mind they're their own thing..part of Siberia from which so many nomadic conquerors have come.

(4/4) This makes me wonder 🤔 Can we do the same with the Indus river? I know the British did a survey of sorts when they were conquering Sindh. @odysseuslahori @lost_in_context (YouTube)
