I am a survivor, also. The last couple of weeks have been very traumatic. Once I was away from my abuser, I began to tell everyone, so that he would not retaliate. The more people who knew, the less he came after me. I hope the same now.

Saw him perform for the first time in 2016 when he toured with Sting. He opened with Rhythm of the Heat. The beat was like if he put a stethoscope up against the Earth. I was blown away, and the music was so powerful that it overcame my emotions and all I could do was cry.

As someone who has studied psychology, I would have to say that he most likely was mistreated and neglected in his youth. He probably witnessed abuse, or was subject to it, growing up.
Still, he could've chosen a better path and he didn't. I'm not sure he can redeem himself.
