i will always maintain that if hoffman had been able to truly leave at the end of saw 3d he would’ve gone to some little town in the middle of nowhere and grown a garden and adopted strays. he would’ve wanted to teach himself to be gentle. to use his hands for kindness

what he wants most is to be understood, but everyone he seeks out fails (which is hardly their faults let’s be so real). rigg chooses his savior complex, strahm chooses momentary victory. it’s understandable to us but less so to hoffman, who’s left alone again every time.
