I’ve been a nurse for 25 years. I was paid to train, free tuition, wards well staffed, could retire at 55 with good pension. Now, wages eroded, poor staffing, burnout, pensions linked to state pension age, students dropping out, less attractive career..All this is on the govt.

In HDU, an elderly woman was admitted via A&E with leaking aneurysm, but only came to us forend of life care. I held her hand with her husband until she died. He had no money for taxi home, as he rushed in, we paid and pretended it was hospital funded as he didn’t want charity 😢

Sorry to hear that. My mother in law had end of life endometrial cancer and was awarded PIP after 12 months of wrangling for the final 2 months of her life and father in law STILL had to pay back half the month when she died.. awful.. only had 1 months payment 😔

Will people start to understand the climate change emergency now or continue to deny it with their own eyes? Floods this regular is NOT normal! Warmer climate will lead to extreme rain/weather and I just wish emotions would be taken out of the debate and stick to facts 😢

Thankyou for posting this. My dad still remembers when he was dragged into a bomb shelter never knowing what was going to happen, playing in rubble, he was only young (born 1939) but even HE agrees this time is the worst it has every felt. He agrees with everything you’ve said.

25 years is still not full contribution for the NHS pension. She must have started nursing late, been a Band 2 HCA, or not paid into it. Either way, if she was at the lowest Band 5 should have enough to retire on with the state pension also. There is more to this story.

I’m beginning to think there is a correlation between poor parenting, antisocial behaviour, no respect (nothing to do with legitimate concerns) who’d have thought it? My kids would never have acted this way, they’re respectful, kind and considerate. These kids have no chance 😞

Fed up of this.. my daughter had worked her ABSOLUTE bum off to get a place in university with an end goal to be a police detective.. she will be the one paying pensions.. they need support! She has to pay £10k uni fees with hardly any support! She gets hardly anything!!

Not impressed that “anti vaxxers” were out in force outside my daughters school with placards saying “Vaccines kill”.. this is getting scary.. what happened to freedom of choice? Works both ways..luckily my daughter ignored them and made the right informed decision for her..

If it’s easy, why doest she doing it? Quite often those claiming benefits receive low wages. There are no conversations why companies are happy to allow the tax payer to offset business profits. People argue “Oh but prices will go up if wages increase 🙄” What do people want?

UTIs are a very common in young girls/women and a lot to do with not drinking enough, stress, poor fitting underwear, being sexually active, cleaning properly, not being allowed to use the toilet/not going enough.. it has chuff all to do with the “type” of toilet..

We need staff due to vacancies- nurses don’t grow on trees and take 3 years to train. This is not a credible workforce solution and will end up with more gaps in rosters, longer bed waits due to no staff and no care packages to discharge them to
