@JamesAFurey 5th grade teacher here—one of the main problems with ‘discovery or exploratory’ learning is it can reinforce misconceptions and delays actual learning.

@SpencerKlavan As a parent and a 5th grade teacher, I find such situations painful to endure.

@KSTeacher1 I find that directions as commands works well; saying to a student ‘could you stop talking,’ makes it to easy for a student not to comply.
