Yes of course Trump is bad, there was no illusion that he would be terrible Electing Harris would have been worse We can fight Trump. Through mutual aid, through civil disobedience, through active resistance and organizing. We can overcome We would never overcome the moral stain of re-electing genocide. It would have undercut any moral authority. It would have metastasized As godawful as Trump is, it was the better outcome. As a humanist, the reality that this will cause millions of very poor people with cheaply treatable diseases, many of them children, to die, makes me feel the big, pressing question is not, "Why should we have to prevent that?" but "If you can prevent that, why wouldn't you?"

If you could spend 1 cent out of every $10 you pay in federal income taxes to keep 20M people in poor nations on HIV treatment and to provide HIV testing & prevention and other ancillary services to lower infections in hard-hit nations, would you do it? That's what PEPFAR does.
