Hello! Just a quick PSA to say that I’ve migrated over to Substack if anyone fancies subscribing over there! Same writings and styles, just under a new name (with potentially some new sports)!
im sorry but that’s embarrassing for her. the fans travelled down to london early to watch the game and are unhappy. they are allowed to express their opinions and feelings towards anyone, a manager or whoever.
kelly’s staying. we already have signed three players and dont seem to be slowing down. everyone’s doing well in the world cup and that’ll roll into the wsl season. players will be returning for injury across the season. maybe this is our season lads. who’s up for a quadruple?
I always have, and always will, detest people who solely view the women’s game as a family day out. Not only because it’s not true but because it’s also infantilising and disrespectful. Swearing is part of sports, shocking I know.
kcc’s a defensive midfielder or a central midfielder. viv and frida are attacking midfielders. so i’m not sure what the relevance of all of this is. do people not realise kyra was a signing for the future at arsenal? trying to ‘one up’ arsenal by mentioning this makes no sense
Annnddd how well has it gone for KCC at Arsenal......not quite as well as might have hoped....
With Viv now back, it is hard to see quite where she fits in there....with Maanum as well....
It was always a strange decision of hers to go there.....

KCC's interview w/
@smh
, on the post-World Cup fight for her signature among WSL clubs:
"I was tossing up between Tottenham & Chelsea. Arsenal came in last minute and said, ‘We want you’. I just had this feeling that it was the right decision, so I said yes straight away."
shame on the athletic for allowing this piece to go out. a *spurs* fan writing a clearly very biased article against both arsenal and women’s football in general. with the week we’ve had, you’d think the athletic would do better.
Arsenal and Spurs would never be allowed to play at home on the same day, there could be carnage afoot.
But Arsenal Women and Spurs? Yep that's OK. I went to both games yesterday to compare and contrast two very different types of football fandom

Is there some unwritten rule in journalism in Australia that it’s always Caitlin Foord’s Arsenal and not like Steph Catley’s Arsenal? Because I’ve noticed they always say Foord’s Arsenal when arguably Catley’s more important as vice captain?! Or am I being ridiculous
#EXCLUSIVE
: Lisa De Vanna has slammed the A-Leagues for its 'token' appointment of female staff for the All Stars clash with Caitlin Foord's Arsenal, arguing they should be good enough to coach the team outright.

this is giving prime cooney-cross at hammarby. like her before the world cup. she was giving these performances week in, week out. y’all should’ve been there, it was sensational. i was, not to brag x
All i have to say about everything that’s happened tonight is that if your immediate reaction is to defend a man who is being accused of borderline anger issues and abuse against women who under his leadership and management, you should not have a space/voice in women’s football.
Pernille Harder: simply one of the greatest players to ever play the game. She’s one of those players you don’t realise have impact they do right now. But one day we will look back at her career and applaud at what she’s done.
my favourite thing about hammarby is their ability to mix experience with the next gen to push and flourish them. it’s something that they’ve mastered and the signings they’ve made so far this window have continued that theme.
Reminder we wouldn’t have Marta without the Damallsvenskan. 103 appearances, 111 goals in her first spell in Sweden, 6 trophies in 4 years. Another 3 trophies over the other two spells. To say the league has nurtured the very best at a young age is almost an understatement.
i’m not one to give into discourse but as no one actually considered maybe she’s tired? like, arsenal for the first half of the season didn’t have another left forward winger and she was playing so many minutes. now that lacasse is playing on the left, hopefully foord can rest up
every once in a while, i think about bonmatí strolling past graham-hansen in the final so she isn't offside for the first goal and laugh. that's football.
sometimes i fear that i will never be good enough of a writer to make it as a sports journalist then remember bollocks like this gets approved and published and think i have a chance because i’ll never be this bad.

D’Angelo and Van Domselaar passing each other on the M4, them bumping into each other in the services. Them sharing the same taxi so one gets in when the other gets dropped off. The possibilities are endless
Believe Aston Villa is a potential destination for Sabrina D’Angelo. Villa’s Anna Leat could leave the club, while Arsenal are obviously hoping to sign Villa’s Daphne van Domselaar for a fee. Lots of ‘ifs’ 🎡🧤
Can we talk about how fun the football Hammarby are playing is? The cheeky flick from Jøsendal, this goal just shouldn’t work because it’s basically 5/6 against 2, THAT assist from Blakstad to Vallotto. This is fun, creative football that is working so well and makes it exciting
Alexia Putellas leaving Barcelona to go to join the Spanish camp is asked questions by reporters at the airport
Reporter: “…is it to protect Jenni?”
Alexia: “Why? Everything’s fine right?”

Brighton last season against the top four teams scored 3 goal in 8 fixtures. Their last 4 games against the same teams (Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, and Arsenal) they have scored 5 and won 3 points.
Time with Melissa Phillips is reflecting, along with her summer recruitment.
one more thing, the illestedt header was very similar to rafaelle’s in the conti cup final. berger comes out to collect, doesn’t get their first and bang back of the net.
Codina has been solid since the turn of the year and I personally Arsenal haven’t seen the best of her. Had some people expressing doubts towards her to me and I don’t understand why. Stay fit and she will thrive. I’m personally excited to see what comes of next season with her.
This week’s Arsenal Women newsletter is about Laia Codina. A mixture of injury, defensive upheaval elsewhere and the form of Lotte Wubben-Moy limited her opportunities last season. But the conditions should be there to make a greater impact next season.
Another day, another example of why Engen makes for an intelligent centreback. She thinks as a midfielder and has that awareness of attackers that could slip defenders mind when they are set on cutting out the ball.
On that Nüsken post hit, Ingrid was pointing out Nüsken’s run to Irene but she was backing Ingrid and didn’t see, leaving a lot of space on that side in the box, though she slightly recovered some ground after the pass, but we were very lucky there (Yes Lawrence was onside there)
i say it like once a week but the potential the arsenal youth currently have with JUST those on loan to championship sides, plus the likes of Lia, is scary, scary business. but it’s exciting
Arsenal do this thing where we sell out the Emirates now. It’s pretty fun. You should be there. Or not. I can’t forced you to come. You’d be missing out terribly though.
