@Jebadoo2
Today’s debate highlights one of the few reasons I might have had for remaining an active member of the Lords, had my health not sadly precluded it.
I knew that once the considerable intellectual weight present in the Lords was brought to bear on it, gender and its exponents
@WomensRightsNet
So who was the HR manager who made these statements?
I’m betting either a cowardly jobsworth or an Adams Apple with size 12 stilettos and a bad frock.
@DrJohnChisholm
@SuellaBraverman
May I politely suggest you read the Act before writing about it. As one who supported it in its passage through the Lords I made a point of reading it thoroughly. Your statements are factually incorrect, as a cursory glance at the Act will confirm.
@EmmaKennedy
I’m afraid you’re the 🤡
He has XY chromosomes, has experienced male puberty, and is therefore ineligible to box as a woman.
My qualifications are in medicine.
Yours?
@IanSollom
You clearly lack a basic understanding of how ministerial decisions are made. They are made after weighing up expert advice, giving all angles of opinion on the subject.
“Secretary of State, we have looked at the evidence on both sides of this argument and recommend….”
@thenation
Transphobic my foot. There’s nothing transphobic about wanting women’s sport to remain clean, without infiltration by second rate men looking for money and prizes. Allowing “trans” athletes to compete in women’s sport will destroy it.
@MonicaHelenJ
@CUH_NHS
@drmbrady
You will follow the law as everyone in a civilised society tries to do.
And while I’m here I hope that the govt has the guts to make it an offence to waste tax payers money on EDI in the NHS.
A department ffs.
@djmissgripper
@kln3109
@helenstaniland
@Alex_house1
You most certainly do not know better. As one of the legislators who passed the Equality Act I can assure you that facilities are entitled to exclude all males from female spaces irrespective of GRC.
Changes proposed to the Act will make this policy mandatory. Bye bye bro.
@Dantechnik
@wesstreeting
Is that the latest lie?
Wes isn’t doing this alone, he’s taken professional advice from the medical profession, regulators, and Prof Cass. No one sane believes that these drugs are suitable for young people.
@JPMasters
@wesstreeting
Here in the UK we make our decisions on the care of children on the basis of evidence, not delusion.
Perhaps you can tell us what exactly turns a man into a woman and vice versa?
At what stage in their magical journey into self delusion does the change happen?
We’re all ears!
@roseveniceallan
To be fair I recall little of what went on over that Act, having just finished several hard years as a defence minister. I lumped it it in with gay rights as something I’d supported all my political life.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
How wrong we were!
@WingsScotland
@alisonthewliss
@bencooper
Events like this are supposed to have stewards to ensure that standards are kept.
The claim that neither you nor any other elected members present saw anything amiss is risible.
I’ve attended many rallies and protests in my time, but never seen this sickening hatred shown.
@ProfDaveAndress
Do you take everything someone says at face value, or are you indulging in special pleading on behalf of gender identity?
Because I can tell you you wouldn’t get far in psychiatry believing the former, and deserve our contempt for the latter
@MrsNickyClark
@munkihanger
@BBCr4today
I’ve been involved in this debate for quite some years now. I’m getting a bit tired of people like Whitty talking about calming the debate on both sides.
Ive seen none of my friends and allies on our side calling for anyone to be raped, or assaulted or killed.
None.
@VictoriaPeckham
Pointing out that a man is a man, and will always be a man is not abusive.
The lie inherent in using female pronouns for one, allowing a favoured few TRA pets to use any woman’s facility etc is most certainly abhorrent per se.
How does one distinguish between good and bad
@ACLUofAlaska
Sport is correctly segregated by sex, not imagination. No one is banned from participating in sports by this ruling.
They’re just not allowed to cheat.
@Jebadoo2
This is one of the most ludicrous falsehoods to date on the subject. There’s no medical reason why someone would die from losing access to puberty blockers nor cross sex hormones.
The only alternative, suicide is so rare that any increase would be front page news.
@SexMattersOrg
@ONS
Population statistics must be based on reality not acceptance of any unfalsifiable beliefs. By all means ask a question about beliefs or feelings if it will add to the data which is real.
Thats Sex. Male or Female.
@ForWomenScot
@AnAccountForX
@JohnSwinney
It’s really quite simple. In every case like this, action must be taken against those who interfere with the rights of women whose beliefs have been protected time after time now in the courts.
I feel utterly ashamed that this should have happened in Fife, where I served both in
@MichaelUnett
@HaroldOWessex
@UKHomosexual
And that is not what we intended when we passed the Equality Act in 2010. Single sex spaces, it was assumed would be honoured by those making provision, not ignored.
Happily the Tories are about to clarify the issue, not before time and you will have to accept it.
@itsnovabish
Talking through your arse here bro.
They produce documented irreversible side effects.
Thats why their use is recommended only for the tiny number of kids who suffer early puberty, where the benefit outweighs the risk.
@RonniNicole1
If your motivation was to pretend to be a member of the other sex in order to appear as one in the results, may I suggest flower pressing as an excellent substitute
@KemiBadenoch
When we passed the Equality Act in 2010 few of us realised that “allowing” same sex spaces for women was an invitation to deny them.
This oversight can be remedied via secondary legislation to make them mandatory.
@WingsScotland
If Starmer fails to reappoint the present Chair after the sterling work she has done over her term in office it will be an absolute disgrace. If he appoints a trans rights advocate (read men usurping women’s rights) then he will deserve the opprobrium which will follow.
@JoPhoenix1
Agreed. It’s utterly appalling but sadly typical of the responses from the trans cult to a report as authoritative as this one.
They’ve decided collectively that deliberate lying is their only line of attack.
So
@thetimes
why on earth does this not meet your “guidelines?”
Just who do you employ who considers the exposure of such views something to be hidden from others?
I think you ought to tell us.
How interesting. I’ve just had a carefully thought out contribution to the debate over David Aaronovitch’s piece in todays Times rejected because it “failed to meet our community guidelines”.
I shall paraphrase it here for people to draw their own conclusions
@AshReganALBA
@scotgov
In particular they must now recognise that it is no longer ethical for any clinician in Scotland to prescribe puberty blockers for kids or adolescents. There’s no evidence of benefit and ample evidence of harm.
@DalgetySusan
@UKLabour
If Labour think that women’s rights aren’t going to be a key issue in this election I know of a lovely bridge they might want to consider buying.
@DSanderson_85
@MForstater
Any parent who keeps their child in George Watsons until this is properly sorted out is doing that child a severe disservice at least, and great harm at worst.
@jk_rowling
Anyone who puts the feelings of employees before the rights and dignity of vulnerable women and girls shouldn’t be allowed within a thousand miles of a caring situation
“It’s just harmless fun”
(Referring to drag queens giving overtly sexualised performances to young kids”
I pointed out that this is similar to PIE’s attempt to legitimise their abhorrent views 40 years ago.
I referred to evidence of the malign motivation behind the queer agenda
@TwisterFilm
Malcolm I hadn’t realised that the Misogyny Bill was actually going to be pro misogyny.
It’s much clearer now thanks.
What’s the betting they’re lining Kennedy up to chair their equivalent of the Cass Report?
And how is this going to be enforced - visual inspection? Skirt check? What’s your standardized criteria and how many biological women do you expect will fall out of this screening process? I’m betting, many…
And exactly how is this hetero-patriarchal praxis feminist?
@nikki_plummer
@AldiUK
I reckon if it’s a choice between a sane employee plus 99% of the population, and Josh, you should tell Josh where to go.
It will save a very expensive trip to the Employment Tribunal.
@ForWomenScot
Taking her claim at face value (🙄I know), a person with any sense of what is proper behaviour would automatically resign from their position.
The buck stops with her.
Critics of the methodology of the systematic reviews that form the basis of the Cass Review are displaying their limited understanding of research methods and evidence based medicine — but that’s what got us into this mess in the first place
There is plenty of it, as anyone who follows the excellent
@PankhurstEM

@AMMcCormack2
Publish his name and address on every social media outlet you can find. What’s he going to do?
Sue you?
Also if he has a record of this then demand that the police get involved. His business is fraudulent
