Agnostic Pantheist. It’s negligent to suggest there’s no potential of nature reflecting the best possible metaphysical outcome. How so?

@JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @mostlyreplies @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture I understand why there is the perception I’m wrong.

@JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @mostlyreplies @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture I think considering this process is a good way to think about say a deathless realm. Do we really want that, considering what makes us happy are roles in a deathly world?

@RicoKRS @JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @mostlyreplies @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture No, I don’t think we could ever have control of that.

@mostlyreplies @JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture This is the key tweet re what I’m saying about you guys not answering the question. You’re tainted by what you believe, but here are admitting the best thing is what offers potential.

@JovialDane @RicoKRS @TrolleyDave1971 @mostlyreplies @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture I agree with everything you say here, but as I said, what’s best for humanity is not the same question as what possible metaphysical outcome do we desire.

@mostlyreplies @JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture Because you believe this will happen, you are looking for reasons to say it’s what you want to happen too.

@JovialDane @mostlyreplies @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture I think your answers/considerations re desire are tainted because of what you believe, so you see the desire piece in a spectrum of… ahem… ‘irrelevance’ as one or other of you might say :)

@JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @mostlyreplies @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture I don’t think any evidence could do it. It’s been a fun conversation. Any doubt I have is around the nomologically possible piece, and not the human psychology piece.

@JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @mostlyreplies @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture I don’t think anyone has actually laid any meaningful punch. I don’t think any of you really think all having one life is the best possible metaphysic, and none of you are suggesting anything else. When I probe, not possible becomes the defence. Sure, we don’t want recurrence :)

@JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @mostlyreplies @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture My question was never what we desire for humanity, it was what we desire metaphysically.

@JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @mostlyreplies @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture Apologies if didn’t make clear but my question was what would you/we metaphysically want/desire that is possible. I don’t think the answer to that question is ultimately different for anyone.

@mostlyreplies @JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture This whole question is a little bit about should we murder or not. It’s the nature of the question. If you really do want one life for all for everyone that is the choice being made/supposed desire.

@JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @mostlyreplies @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture Ok, we’re approaching nitty gritty here. If you could choose for the suicidal, do you think that going against their wishes and not reincarnating them, would be the wrong thing to do?

@mostlyreplies @JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture No, thought experiment only. I’ve read too much Schopenhauer, and agree with him re cold random chance :)

@mostlyreplies @JovialDane @TrolleyDave1971 @RicoKRS @angusintheditch @RevNFidel @NoHolyScripture If time recurred with no reincarnation you could never see the potential better world Jovial is talking about, or have the potential that world recurring for you.
