Misfortune is such a random thing. I remember Law school, first day of class and someone forgot to turn off the iron before leaving the hostel, it sparked a fire which burnt 2 rooms, all the properties and documents in it. He was suspended.

Any time young lawyers try to speak up about unfair working conditions in law firms, there’s always a senior lawyer somewhere who comes up to share how they too suffered during their early years.
They make it seem like inhumane working conditions are a prerequisite for success.
As a matter of fact, I was consistently owed 3 months salary. We didn’t have a closing time for quite a while because my boss was a workaholic.
But that didn't deter me. I worked my butt off and stayed there for 4 years; probably working 12–16 hours a day. There was a benefit.
