@michelleames @Expedia @ExpediaHelp Sorry to hear this. It sounds like Delta literally sells exactly what you’re asking for, but they just refuse to…I don’t know how it works in the backend, but I’d imagine it involves checking a box or two to designate the seats differently. Shouldn’t matter much on their end.

@qarayahya @thekevingeary Interesting. Never thought of this before or even knew it was possible to set inline variables like this.

@BillOfWonder @DuaneStorey @UnderstandDev @photomatt I don’t know, William. I’d rather let a competent court decide something like that. I agree with you on the “messy” part. It is a bit of a messy situation, for sure. We’ll see how it goes. I hope it all works out for the best.

@DuaneStorey @UnderstandDev @BillOfWonder @photomatt Thanks for the reply, Duane. From a practical standpoint, I see no difference. If DHH decided to start a commercial enterprise using the Rails mark, that could change at any time, couldn’t it? He doesn’t and I don’t think he will, to be fair. Just a hypothetical.

@sneakytits85 Thanks again for finding this. It was a strange read. I’m guessing it was to preemptively defend against a potential “reverse hijacking” attempt. And also to put a stop to the stuff under “defamation and interference.” The Flock thing…that was months after the domain transfer.

@UnderstandDev @BillOfWonder @photomatt Whether the trademark is owned by WF, A8C, or Matt personally…the end result is the same. It’s pretty normal in open source. Also see Next.js and Vercel. You can’t just have somebody else’s trademark (or website) because you misunderstood something that happened 15 years ago.

@yosefeliezrie @jsON @photomatt @thewpcc I don’t think this is a realistic possibility, Yosef. Simply owning a domain name 20 years ago isn’t enough to do something like this.

@BillOfWonder That last reply was directed to the other individual who replied to me. Apologies, should’ve taken you off that thread.

@UnderstandDev @BillOfWonder @photomatt When will you be transferring the domain to me? Understand Dev was built on the idea that all developers can help each other understand development. It cannot be in the hands of one person. I’ll set up an awesome governance board to manage it. Trust me.

@BillOfWonder @photomatt WordPress (unlike Intuit TurboTax) can be forked under a new name, and that fork can have the greatest active governing oversight board that OSS has ever seen. As it’s a fact that an active governing oversight board is best, people should flock to that and away from WordPress.

@danielebesana @deviorobert @KatieKeithBarn2 @PoeHaH @rmelogli I’ve seen a small number of boisterous legal threat makers in the WP product space. Nothing ever happens. It’s their responsibility to ensure the plugin meets their needs in their unique environment. Plugins couldn’t be commercially viable if sued over every alleged “bug.”

@deviorobert You familiar with Stellar’s telemetry library? My thought would be “why only track active install counts?” Could also track more fine-grained anonymized usage data specific to your plugins.
