Delighted to announce that I’ve recently joined the team at @chromaui (maintainers of @storybookjs) as a DX Community Engineer! What? Why? 🧵...

@jon_neal I just learned this myself! The community there chased Dorsey away a while ago, he’s left the board and has no financial stake. (Must be signed in to view this post, sorry.)

@JagexAllstar @storybookjs @Jagex Thanks for sharing! Glad to hear it's been more good than bad. 🙂 FYI: - Next.js-specific helpers - - - Network & module mocking in SB, often helpful for pages - -

@MetalHaze @storybookjs Nope! The visual tests part requires a Chromatic account, which has both free and paid plans to match your usage. But Storybook Test itself, which lets you run a variety of test types on your components, will always be free, just like all of Storybook.

Y'all. We're building something extraordinary here. I'll never test my UI components in the command line again.

@griffadev @yannbf @storybookjs @vitest_dev @ViteConf It doesn't technically do anything about the number of stories, but you have control over how those stories appear (in the sidebar, in docs, etc) with tags. E.g. `tags: ['!dev', '!autodocs']` would use the story only for testing.

@jamonholmgren @JoshWComeau I can at least confirm it's not a one-off. I saw it too on my 14 Pro using the Mail app in iOS 17.6.1.

@kosuke_upd We went with subpath imports because it's a Node standard that's supported by a wide set of tools, including Webpack & Vite. But, we're also working with the Vitest team to see if we can bring more Vitest-style mocking to SB, too.
