was born in January 2014 in the Sosian Valley. He came from the MF family one of the dominant and charismatic pride.
Yesterday, KWS Meru Vet team came to the aid of a 3-year-old lioness in Meru N. Park. She had a significant swelling on her lower jaw, which became apparent after a successful buffalo hunt. She displayed signs of discomfort while caring for her two roughly 3-month-old cubs.

He is currently over 17 years old and has successfully been fighting to protect his territory for over a decade.
On arrival, KWS rangers were astonished to find out that the ‘alleged lion’ was a lion printed carrier bag.
Despite this being a false alarm, we laud the public for raising an alarm in order to mitigate a possible conflict.
Our vet team responded to a report of a zebra with a face growth at junction 10 - Nairobi NP. The pendunculated mass was found to be cancerous, a rare type of skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. The mass was removed by surgical excision & we expect a complete recovery.
Two lions in a pride of 17 were today injured by buffalos during a hunt in Ngutuni conservancy adjacent to Tsavo East. The KWS veterinary team immobilised and treated both lions by stitching. The prognosis is good.

is delighted to report the birth of yet another calf by a white rhino in Meru National Park. The mother, named Jenifer, is believed to have given birth to a bouncing male baby about four days ago.
This morning, a sub-adult male lion was spotted stuck between a concrete wall and iron sheets in Ongata Rongai area, Kajiado County. KWS was alerted by members of the public and promptly dispatched rangers & the veterinary team to the scene.

Speared and suffering from wounds inflicted by a poisoned arrow head, this Tusker bull, roaming the plains of Tsavo East, is making a great recovery after a successful rescue operation was conducted by our KWS and SWT vet teams.
For the first time in 21years, KWS reported ZERO poaching of Rhinos in the year 2020. Rhino poaching has reduced from a high of 59 cases in 2013 when poaching was at its peak to Zero poaching in 2020. The last time this feat was achieved was in 1999.
