This myth of 'impartiality' is just one of many tactics used to prevent marginalised people from telling their own stories. Who the fuck is better to speak on this than a black woman who is an expert on the subject?
And where the black presenters on docs regarding white people?
Why should the presenter be “removed from the subject” when it is something as urgent as the maternal mortality rate of Black women in the U.K.
I personally would prefer for commissioners to put money behind docs where the presenter is connected to the subject.
