Gov. Jim Pillen’s administration decides not to participate in a new summer child nutrition program worth $18 million to Nebraska kids.

is in Nebraska, you go see her!! Bill Nye was an added bonus 😍
Meeting people and collecting memories are two of the very best parts of this campaign!
The new GOP candidate for the Lancaster County State Board of Education seat, Liz Davids, ranting against sex education by holding up a box of extra large condoms and assorted fruits and vegetables.
Good reminder to vote for sanity and an actual teacher

in 2024.
My week recap ✨
Back to school for the oldest, multitasking while working from home/watching the special session, postcards with
@nsea_org
to spread pro-public school love, and of course, door knocking!
Only 80 days to go!! No slowing down now!
Out here just personally introducing myself and speaking to as many voters as I possibly can, because I LOVE our schools, and I LOVE our students and teachers.
❤️❤️❤️
❤️ if there’s one thing I can rally behind, it’s public education! What a great morning at the Capitol gathering with other teachers and public school advocates.
This is what democracy looks like!
👋🏻 meeting voters near one of the corners of my district this weekend! I get lots of different reactions when I introduce myself at the door, but one of my favorites might be, “oh, hi Kristin! My friend told me about you!! You have my vote.” 💕
Only 65 days to go!!
Sometimes the reality and the importance of my campaign hits me at different times… like when I see my down-ballot race yard sign next to a bunch of top ticket candidates 🤩
I’ve been so overwhelmed and appreciative of all the support I’ve gotten since announcing my candidacy for State Board! Thank you all for your kind words, likes, shares, and donations!! They mean the world to me. ❤️
Time to get to work! Only 436 days until Election Day! 🥳
WHAT. A. NIGHT!! ✨🙌🏻
Grateful to have the support of voters in the primary election. This victory is just the beginning! I am energized and committed to advocating for students, parents, and educators across the state.
147 days to go! 🥳
Public schools really just want to be able to support kids as best they can. Turns out, they need funding to do that. Support public schools by signing the petition and help keep public tax dollars in public schools!
Support Our Schools Nebraska wants to repeal the Opportunity Scholarships Act, which commits $25 million a year in tax credits for those who donate to private school scholarship funds.
It’s me, hi! I’m the non extremist person running for District 1, and would so appreciate your support as I run to keep sane people on the Board of Ed!
Yes— this person wants to run for State Board to make education policy for Nebraska students. Please listen to her own words—- then— please go find the non-extremist person running in that race— and make a donation! Message me if you have questions.
This is just your Saturday reminder that I’m running for State Board of Ed, I actually really love public schools, and I don’t feel the need to bring absurd props to a meeting to make a point, unlike my opponent.
Have a great day! ❤️
📣THIS IS AN ISSUE! Our students are suffering, our teachers are leaving, and so many of our lawmakers just don’t see it as a priority. How long will we go down this path and just let our edu system crumble?
New state data shows there were 908 unfilled teaching jobs in Nebraska this year, up from 769 in 2022. But with fewer districts participating in the survey, the number is likely a lot higher.
One in four unfilled teaching jobs were in special education.
And when these homeschoolers start calling themselves micro schools and are eligible to receive state funding, they still won’t be required to be held accountable. What a disservice to kids.
NDE is giving an update on the revamping of its homeschool application system. For 2024-25, parents will no longer have to submit curriculum & other documentation to prove they are following state statute, they can write a letter that assures they are following all rules.
The perfect afternoon to visit with neighbors!
My favorite parting comment as of late:
“Thanks so much for running! I can’t wait to watch you succeed!!”
☺️☺️☺️
Nebraska schools are on the right track, but we have to stay the course, AND there’s more work to be done. Marginalized students need more support, and we need more teachers! Both issues are main focuses of my campaign.
BREAKING: New Nebraska assessment scores show students are rebounding to pre-pandemic levels in English, math & science.
Last year, students dipped below 50% in proficiency. Now, with double-digit gains, they are passing 2017-18 scores. Story below:
Wrapped up another voter precinct today, and I have to say education is a bipartisan issue. I talk to folks from all political parties, and sure some issues are politicized, but people in Lincoln care about education and want to support candidates that will protect it.
Best parts of door knocking today:
“Oh, Kristin! Hell yeah, you can count on our vote. Thanks for coming by!”
“We need people like you. I’ve read about you. Keep going!!”
“Thank you so much for stopping by. I will definitely be voting for you.”
No rest til this race is won!
Can’t wait for the kickoff of my campaign next Tuesday at Bin 105! Come celebrate with me all the work that has been put into my campaign so far! I’ve poured my heart and soul into this, and it’s just the beginning!! ✨
Hope to see you all there!
We are officially • O N E Y E A R • out from Election Day! Team Kristin is hard at work and we are kicking it into high gear!! 🔥 This is such an important race and one I do not take lightly. Let’s go!!
On tonight’s episode of Kristin Campaigns, a neighbor answered his Ring doorbell, and before I could say anything, said he knows who I am and he’s rooting for me. Does this mean I’ve made it? 😅 tune in next week to find out!
Gov. Jim Pillen proposed Friday to have the state take over paying for K-12 education as part of his evolving plan to broaden sales taxes and dramatically cut property taxes in Nebraska.

The teacher shortage crisis is real, and the direct impact on students is massive. These students that receive special education support are forced to relocate or revoke services. This is not what is best for kids! More work can be done here.
Nothing like a last minute effort to collect as many signatures as possible! Grateful for the company of Howard, a retired superintendent this morning out in Broken Bow!!
@SOSNebraska
Voters are fired up about LB753, and we kept busy gathering petition signatures at the College View Farmer's Market again today!
Just a few of our volunteers are pictured; we were so busy I ran out of time to take more photos.
Nebraska, this is the chair of your education committee in the legislature.
This column from Senator Murman has everything: racism, porn, MLK Jr quotes, grammar errors…

In a development that could shake up the Nebraska State Board of Education, all four incumbents with expiring terms have decided against running for re-election.

🍏 SO excited and honored to be the NSEA Recommended Candidate for my race! As a proud member of the NSEA, I am so grateful to have the support of the other 25,000 members. Our teachers and our students deserve a qualified, certified educator in this seat.
My new bill, LB 964, will provide forgivable loans for students seeking an endorsement in special education.
This bill addresses Nebraska's special education teacher shortage and aims to attract and retain teachers throughout the state.

💙💚 a heartfelt thank you to those that came out to write postcards with me this morning! Together we wrote messages to hundreds of neighbors. More work to be done, but so much great work was done today! ✨
Had a great morning speaking at the Helen Boosalis Luncheon, held by the Democratic Women’s Caucus! Spending time in a room FULL of like-minded activists and supporters is energizing and inspiring to say the least! Less than 100 days to go. Let’s do this!! 💫
✨ Had the best time this morning writing postcards to neighbors, and a few notes to some local businesses that support our LGBTQ+ community! Those got a little extra flair 🤗🌈
Thanks to all that came and spent their Saturday morning with me!! 💕
Seriously the best night ✨ thank you everyone that came out to support my campaign! Feeling so fortunate to be starting off with so much love and support.
We have the anti private voucher petitions! Come join public school teacher

1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ DAYS TO GO!!
I’m out doing the work, and we are getting so close, but there is still SO much work to do to finish out this race strong. I’d LOVE your help! We have lots of fun opportunities coming up to help us reach our goal - join me on my site!
Nine candidates filed by Friday's deadline for the four open seats on the Nebraska State Board of Education. All four incumbents decided not to run for re-election.

Welcome to “we the people”. They say the leftists are mean?! But they continue to attack people left and right. Seems like they can’t handle it when people call them out.
@ChrisVailNE
🪧 It’s yard sign time!!
Go ahead and get your signs back out!! If you are wanting a sign, message me with your address and we will add you to our delivery list!
We’re 9 weeks out - let’s get those signs up!
NEW: Nebraska politicians caved to billionaires, passed a controversial school voucher program, and pissed off Nebraskans.
So the people got a measure on the ballot to overturn it.
Now they’re on the verge of an improbable victory to save public education in a deep red state.
✨ Come knock doors with me this weekend!
➖ Sunday, April 21st at 12pm or 2pm
➖ Meet at Stransky Park (17th and Harrison Ave)
➖ Receive training before heading out!
✨ I hope to see you there!
We have yard signs popping up all over the city and I L•O•V•E it! Let me know if you’d be willing to host a yard sign and we’ll get it delivered to you ASAP! 🙌🏻
Come gather with us at the campaign HQ, enjoy a cup of coffee, and write postcards to our neighbors in support of the campaign! Can’t wait to see you there!
It was the first day of school today for Nebraska's largest school district, OPS. This morning, Superintendent Matt Ray said while there are still many things to work on, the district is making improvements with staffing, transportation & more:
Thankfully, President Trump is okay and I commend law enforcement for their swift action. Violence is never okay regardless of political party and has no place in politics.
New candidate -- Kristin Christensen who is seeking the State Board of Education seat for district that covers Lincoln and northwest Lancaster County. Current board member Patsy Koch Johns is not running and has endorsed Christensen.
Senator Linehan was just asked what metrics will be used in data collection and reporting to show whether LB 753 works to improve student academic performance or not.
She doesn't give a single one.
What a GOOD day!
• Started the day spending a few hours with the most amazing volunteer group
• Then over to the LCDP yard sign drive through to help hand out tons of yard signs
• Topped it off with some door knocking and earning those votes!
I love these days.

I’m SO excited to celebrate all the hard work that has been put into my campaign so far. Let’s get this show on the road! See you all tomorrow night in Lincoln at Bin 105 at 5:30!
I mean… we all already knew that. But thanks for the confirmation.
The quiet part (and the scary part) out loud is the attempt to undo public education. Our students deserve so much better.
A former lobbyist from the “school choice” movement shared exactly what the goal is. They speak of “opportunity scholarships” when school choice already exists, instead of calling the grift what it is, because as Senator Lineman said, people wouldn’t understand.
🍎 SO excited for this Back to School fundraiser! Join us on Aug. 29th at White Elm for a fun evening celebrating the new school year! Big thank you to our hosts. This will be an event you won’t want to miss!

we just filed litigation against the Nebraska Freedom Coalition for viciously defaming her by accusing her of grooming and abusing her own child.
These false claims led to calls to abduct her child and that she be publicly executed.
🙌🏻 We are officially ONE WEEK from the Primary, and I need your help! Can you spare a couple hours this weekend to door knock with me?? It’s time to GET OUT THE V🗳️TE! Sign up for a shift at the link below! Let’s do this!! 💪🏻
This is astounding. The group that hides behind their twitter handle to mock, defame, and harass others on the regular. So Christlike. I’m sure those are the freedoms Jesus had in mind when he died for you.
