Growing up I always felt a need to prove my patriotism to bullies like Boebert who tried to make me feel like I don’t belong.
Muslims do belong. This bigotry is harmful, for all Muslims, and especially younger ones. We can’t let elected officials normalize Islamophobia.
Over the Thanksgiving break, Lauren Boebert said she was recently in a Capitol elevator with Ilhan Omar when a fretful Capitol police officer ran up.
Lauren Boebert said: “Well, she doesn’t have a backpack. We should be fine.”
Boebert then called Ilhan Omar, “jihad squad.”

Local high schoolers were our first volunteers.
They knocked on doors in all temperatures, from the freezing cold to the sweltering heat, to gather petition signatures, persuade voters, and get out the vote.

When we talk about student protests on college campuses, please remember what they are protesting.
These students are not the problem. Their advocacy for peace is not the problem. The problem is that innocent Palestinians are being murdered in cold blood every single day.
Gaza-based journalist Akram al-Satarri has just returned from Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, where Palestinians are still uncovering more bodies, many with evidence of torture or summary execution. "The three different mass graves are containing around 700 bodies," he says.

I introduced HB2446 this session which aims to boost youth voter turnout. Let’s make it easier for young people to have their voices heard in government.
HB2446 allows for 16 year olds to pre-register to vote. This has the potential to increase voter turnout among young people and boost civic engagement!
