Currently, social reflections appear as add-ons (guidelines, checklists, etc.) that are external to ML scientists’ core responsibility of producing good-performing models. A shift to Claim Replicability (CR) will require social reflections to be part of their "core" duty.

After I accepted my PhD offer in March 2020 I told my mentor I was applying to a summer school in Europe. She asked “Why?” Went on that the year will be the most free time I have until retirement so go do something else. One of the most genuine and thoughtful advice I’ve gotten.
NeurIPS 2024 will have a track for papers from high schoolers.
