@DualFed @Norsehound @galaxyclassproj I assume it was every system dealt with their own defence, in LD there's still Federation species non-SF ships so presumably their fleets play a role in their own defence, but obv that becomes untenable in the 24th century.

@Norsehound @DualFed @galaxyclassproj Of course, it's my opinion. The NX beat the Romulans & the Klingons were never outright militarily defeated, they suffered a natural disaster, and a Constitution class was sent as a peace envoy, much to its Captain's disapproval.
