Yes to all of this
Henry Miller’s advice to a young writer: -Write honestly, even if poorly. -Throw your dictionary away. -If you can’t make words fuck, don’t masturbate them. -Try to forget everything you learned in college. -First ask yourself if you have anything to say. -Don’t draw the pen unless you are ready for the kill.

@WolfmansGotNard Nice! It's good to know your roots. I can trace my family right back to the 1689 Williamite War in Ireland. My ancestor fought in the war and emigrated to New France (present day Quebec) afterwards to work as a mercenary.

@Timodc I rather admire his cantankerous character. If nothing else, it shows a level of sincerity often absent in politics.

@valentinavee Every time I see a movie that's so dark I can barely see, I want to find each and every person who was responsible for that choice, show them this, and go "Look, I took a picture of a duck. HOW DO YOU LIKE IT????" It's a movie, not an eye test. 😛

@mypalal Writing for Film Threat was the greatest and most fun ten years of my life. The internet was new, ultra low budget cinema was on the rise, and nobody got offended by dumb sh*t. Good times!

@faceyouhate I'm always proud about how I care so little about the Oscars that I'm often not aware that they've already played on TV.

@Levans6081 One of the great science fiction films! Where so many others are just action movies that take place in the future so they can have bigger explosions, this one embodies the soul of true speculative fiction.

Happy Birthday to Film Threat! They're mad, bad, and dangerous to know. Exactly what Hollywood deserves. To support them is to support good movies. "Power to the people who punish bad cinema!" - Cecil B. Demented
Happy 40th Birthday Film Threat! Film Threat began life as a xeroxed fanzine with the first issue released on February 6th, 1985. Decades later, we’re still on a mission to champion truly independent films through our website, YouTube channel, podcast and social media presence. Thank you to our fans who appreciate what we do and to the writers, filmmakers and everyone who has supported us for so many years along the way. #FilmThreat #FilmThreatMagazine #FilmThreatSucks

@Horror_Sluts The classic slasher films were basically teen sex comedies with a masked killer. So if you took Jason out of the first four F13 films you'd still have a movie. I think most modern slashers don't get that and they work a movie around a killer rather than the other way around.

@awk_ashleigh The thing I always loved about Lynch is that all his movies are strongly emotional. That's why you can always connect with them, even if they're weird.
