@SalvMattera I know, right? We all went into the pandemic thinking that we would finally be rid of the Boomers. Should have known from that the old would monopolize the services leaving the young to struggle. They weren't called hte "Me Generation" for nothing.

@MidwestChemSafe @Pro_Nuke Probably had at least one friend tht wrecked their dad's car doing it too. But insurance rates were less flexible then and repairs cheaper. It wasn't devestating to a family budget if an accident occurred.

@ArmandDoma I don't think that Coke will let him do that or is The Donald planning on leaving sucrose ("cane sugar") out of hte import tariff program? We make diddly squat for sucrose in the US so it has to be improted from central and South America.

@MrsPA_C Worst sound in the middle of the night. Not sirens, not the baby crying, not cats fighting. The sound of my glasses falling off the nightstand. Did they fall in front? Behind? Under the bed? Will I step on them when I get up to look? I feel like a Twilight Zone ep everytime.

@___frye My great grandmother spent years in a "senile" ward until, after she fell and broke her hip, her young new doctor tested her blood sugar. Treated for diabetes and not "senile" for the rest of her days.

@VeryBadLlama It's ok. The all male pods will die out quickly. From lack of reproductive capabilities if not sheer stupidity. Let's encourage it.

@AngryBlackLady Thank you. I have been advocating for abortion for decades for this very reason. Even "perfect" adoptions traumatize. And worst case scenarios horrify (see the Netflix doc "Into the Fire).

@crumplelush My favorite thing to do when either side mentions immigrants is to remind them that my whole research group is immigrants, as is 99% of the grad office where I sit. And many of the professors in the University. And a few of the facilities staff.

@FPWellman @POTUS I would love to see POTUS do absolutely anything. He is the ultimate lame duck with a good chance that the next admin (if Harris wins) won't undo any of it. But he'll probably just pardon Hunter and call it a day.

@joakial_ Tourist. It will take her around 7 years (if she can speak Norwegian) to apply for Norwegian citizenship. Americans tend to think other countries have stupid immigration laws like ours but they don't. Remember when all the Americans were going to emigrate to NZ during Covid? LOL.

@AlHendiify Like our beautiful wonderful wind farm that ships electricity to Chicago (3 hours away)? At least the farmers are making money. Enough that the folks in the nearby white flight towns are pissed and blocked an expansion. Not sure much power actually getting to Chi-town tho.

@andrechemist It's going to be in theaters next week. I'm taking the kids because we watched it tons when they were younger. When I told the 16 yo that it was going to be on the big screen, he said "I've seen it". LOL.

@okonski_s I did a full 30 minutes for breast cancer (negative). By the end I was convinced I could feel the electrons flipping and could hear my Pchem prof (from 25 years ago) clapping out pulse patterns. My brain wasn't even in the magnet.

@TheRickyDavila Why hasn't anyone restored the regulations in the last 4 years? No one at the FDA mentioned anything, ever, to the administration or the press? Or even to Congress who could have made laws that are legally binding?

@Danofran Except that we accepted it as morally ambiguous when it started in 2014 with the invasion of Crimea. We thought carefully and accepted that Ukranians in Crimea really, secretly wanted to be Russians.

@RN_Atheist I got a Tdap on Monday (because rusty tools are the most likely to cut you) and am still enjoying a lazy day. LOL. Surprise vaccination threw off my plans for flu/covid. Glad that the triple vaxx went well for you!
