Amazing trip to the Netherlands with good friends to see the enigmatic Spectacledeider on Texel. This ultrarare bird looks like from another planet and caused the biggest twitch ever in the NL. Approximately 1k birders present only on Saturday.

As my flight back was cancelled due bad weather, i had to flight back from Corvo via Flores. The 🇨ðŸ‡-Team staying on Flores took me on highly appreciated roundtrip on the island, allowing me to see some of the „resident“ birds.

Today i saw my first nearctic warbler on Corvo! It took us more than two hours to relocate the Northern Parula in the dense wood of da Ponte.

Yesterday evening there was great excitement about 2 (!) TRINIDAD PETRELS (dark and pale) found in front of Corvo while seawatching! Less than 20 records in the WP! Photo credit 📷 Paul Dufour

Today we arrived on the mythical island of Corvo. First nearctic bird we have seen was this Bobolink. Weather forecast looks promising for the next few days, so stay tuned!
