KIRDI is holding a 4 days training for Groots Kenya Participants comprising of 72 trainees from Tana River, Laikipia and Kitui Counties.
The training program is designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in honey value addition, processing and packaging.
KIRDI's Director General visited the Textile Research Unit to commission a newly acquired Swachh 3.2 pad-making machine and a six-headed embroidery machine. The machines will support prospective entrepreneurs in the textile industry

KIRDI's Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change Research Centre (ESCC-RC), has since 2011 developed Gastov technology of clean cookstoves.
Gastovs save 4-5 times the wood/biomass consumed by open fire and reduces harmful emissions associated household air pollution.
KIRDI Technical Experts are having a week long training sponsored by GIZ and conducted by Bureau Veritas Limited on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). This is in effort to improve on service delivery and productivity in KIRDI'S Incubation Services.
