The main problem with too many leftists' Pavlovian reaction to the notion of free speech is that deep down they don't believe they can win the argument. So they try to stop it taking place. I'm for a confident left that wins arguments - that starts by making, not banishing them.

Momentum and any on the left responding like this are doomed. They haven't read the report. They've not said that they "will and reserve judgement". They are just regurgitating a bad ideology in response to an evidence review of paediatric care. Disastrous. And stupid.
The Cass Review ignored dozens of scientific studies, coming to a harmful conclusion of limiting access to gender-affirming care for trans youth.
Anti-trans campaigners have celebrated it.
So it's highly disappointing that Labour's Leadership is welcoming it unreservedly.
