@theladyfarmer There was a very good reason for subsidies to produce (often over produce) and that was to provide cheap food for as many as possible. Subsidies not to produce is very bad for everyone. Beef and lamb at lamb will soon be unaffordable for most

@AlanJLSmith I agree. Farming subsidies were originally introduced post WW2 to encourage production and have cheap food. This policy continued successfully for the next 75 years effectively subsidising the farmers and the consumers.

In both cases getting that evidence and subsequent justice can be very difficult when up against the greatest powers in the land.
